CW 1070 Records Check Training

This training provides resource staff with instruction on completing both Child Welfare and public searches as part of the Records Check Documentation form.  Specialists will learn how to search and how to document information that is located.  Specialists will learn how to engage with the family to gather detailed explanations for any records found.  Specialists will learn how to make recommendations based on the information that is found.

At the end of this course, the Child Welfare Specialist will be able to:

  • Correctly search Child Welfare information systems and public records databases.
  • Thoroughly document all records found.
  • Discuss records found with the individual and gather information to assess the potential risk to a child.
  • Formulate a recommendation for the disposition of the history.
